This particular horn features the highly desirable, early "receiverless" leadpipe design. Rather than utilizing a standard heavy, separate mouthpiece receiver soldered onto the tube, the mouthpiece receiver is integrated directly into the continuous taper of the leadpipe itself. This clean architecture eliminates a major point of acoustic reflection, providing a remarkably efficient, free-blowing experience with precise slotting and immediate response.
